What Baked Items Do You Make For Christmas?

Half of DS's Christmas is when his mama cooks.

He's totally nuts over Kraft Marshmallow Fudge, homemade Mexican Wedding Cookies, (I could eat them all day as well..) and Nestle's 7 Layer cookies, another of my favs.

I may not do more "treat" cooking.

Re: What Baked Items Do You Make For Christmas?

None.  We do buy a fruitcake, Panettone, and cookies and mince pies from Fortnum Mason some years.  It's a once a year treat for January and February, with a box of Kirklands tin of cookies saved for late spring!

I used to bake, my mom used to bake, but honestly like this better now rather than baking.  I retired.  Husband used to bake a lot, but we just don't have a lot of sweets now.

Absolutely none! None of my family are big sweets/treats eaters, and I have no interest in baking.

@ECBG   I LOVE Mexican Wedding Cookies!  We can share the batch and not feel SO guilty!

I used to bake them, walnut shortbreads and ginger cookies.  I found out early on I had no talent for roll out cookies.  I went from fancy cutters to my biscuit cutter ( snowballs and ornaments)  to giving up completly and focusing on drop, hand shaped and log cookies.

I sometimes make those easy peanutbutter cookies

Nowadays I don't bake much unless someone asks or the mood strikes.

I am not a cook or baker.  I tried to bake a pie once.  It was a very odd looking pie as for some reason only had enough dough to cover half the pie and filling didnt go so good eiher.  Also baked a cake from a mix and tried to icing it.  The icing was full of cake crumbs and the cake full of gouges, it was laughable.  Ended my baking attempts.

My mom baked the most wonderful things.  Some of the things I remember from Christmas were Apricot or nuts rolled up in a tringle of dough of some kind,  milllion dollar fudge, cookies in tree and star shapes with icing, our favorite oatmeal/chocolate chip/banana cookies, chocolate balls rolled in coconut, whoppie pies.  She also made hard tack candy.

Mom also made fruit cake but none of us liked it

Absolutely none. Nobody in our family eats baked goods. My son is a health nut just like mama.🤣

Don't be sad over cake crumbs in icing.  Just put large droplets of icing on the top of the cake and connect!
