Are there any foods you love together in the summer?
I love green beans, summer tomatoes, and potato salad or pasta salad together!

Crowder peas cooked with ham or bacon served with okra sauteed crispy and coated with cornmeal, and a side of sliced tomatoes. Okra NOT fried, sauteed! Oh and corn on the cob with butter and salt.

A 'mater (what our family often calls tomatoes, I don't know how it started) sammich on soft wheat bread, lots of mayo and gobs of black pepper on the tomatoes. It's to die for.

Those combos sound yummy! I love heirloom tomatoes & mayo; also like cucumbers & rice wine vinegar with red onions.

Homegrown tomatoes are always a nice addition to a green salad. Fresh red beets cooked, peeled, sliced with onion in a vinegar base. Watermelon for dessert.
