@Peaches McPhee @house_cat

Is that all it takes to get the guys to cook? A pot?

My DH is spurred on with a meager can opener.

@house_cat : my DS also expressed a desire for  a SS 2 qt pot to upgrade from the CE one I bought him in 2015 for Christmas.

His brother's fiancee spied my LC Marseilles braiser the other night.She drools over my LC collection. She has to wait to receive the 6.75 DO in her favorite color until her bridal shower, and what with the pandemic that may well be quite a while. They have not even been able to select a location or date for a wedding yet. Engaged just ahead of lockdown in March.

We are fortunate to have children who enjoy cooking and like the good stuff!

I asked my son if there was something he'd like for Christmas. He's a grown man and I kind of expected him to say, "Nothing, Mom, I'm good".... instead he immediately said, "A Le Creuset 2qt saucepan in Marseille blue."

Well, I learned my lesson!  Next year I won't ask, lol!

I had to laugh at the end of your post. That was my laugh for the day.

My BIL likes to cook and he likes his gadgets.  This past summer he got a new smoker.  He's always raving about his instantpot and air fryer.  I'm married to his brother....nothing in common in the cooking area.  LOL!

@ECBG

Yes, both of my sons like to cook, as did my dad and FIL, so they come by it honestly.

@house_cat

After Christmas, you must tell us what was given to your other son and his reaction to seeing his brother's gift!  Both know their way around the kitchen, eh?!!  😀

That Marseilles blue is gorgeous, I'm surprised they are discontinuing it.

My younger son and DIL live in NC, so they won't be with us. They are expecting their first child next summer, so their priorities are a little different right now.  He didn't ask for cookware!
