Re: We have an air fryer; thinking about an instant pot? Which is better?

Thanks for the replies!!

I ended up getting the Instant Pot, it is still on sale today at the world of Wally for $79, it is the same one I saw a week or so ago, before seeing this recall. I am hoping this one is not recalled. I can't imagine them still having it on the shelves. I got the:

Instant Pot LUX60 V3 6 Qt 6-in-1 Muti-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Sauté, Steamer, and Warmer
...I hope this is a good one..? Anybody have this one..?

Re: We have an air fryer; thinking about an instant pot? Which is better?

The pressure cooker/multicooker is more versatile in my opinion, and over the long term does things that are fairly hard to do otherwise--rice and risotto, slow cook soups and stews and roasts, pressure cook, steam, even brown, and keep warm. That's a lot of functions. You could live with just that pot if you had to.

The air fryer is certainly useful, but I feel it's easier to replicate its functions with your oven or on your stovetop. It wouldn't be as helpful if it was the only thing you had.

Re: We have an air fryer; thinking about an instant pot? Which is better?

come to find out it wasn't the pressure cooker that had the trouble, but,

the multi cooker. Plain pressure cooker wasn't the one that burned down or melted whatever it did.
