My daighter went to Lowes this past Monday and bought a new stove. It had to be ordered and they asked if Sat. delivery was ok. Heck, yes.
It was coming from a warehouse in New Jersey and was to be delivered between 11am and 3pm.
My son came over about 9 and pulled out the old stove, we cleaned where is was.
The delivery guys called at 11:04 this am and said they were 10 minutes away,
Man, they were good, new stove brought in, put in place and old one out in less than 15 minutes.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I live in an OLD house with the original appliances. I KNOW I'm going to need to replace all this stuff...
So I went to Home Depot to "look around". Holy cow! All this "new stuff" looks like science fiction to me!!!!

@CrazyKittyLvr2 Enjoy your new stove.
I hope you can figure out how to use it. My stove is a few years old, but I still haven't figured out how to use all the functions.
I keep the manual nearby for reference.

@CrazyKittyLvr2. Isn't it a joy when, on rare occasion, something goes perfectly right? I hope it works. Happy cooking!

Sounds like a smooth process. Lucky you! Glad it went well.
I am guessing it was an electric stove? Gas appliances are more complicated. A licensed plumber has to do the gas connection, or so I believe. I need to replace my old gas dryer and am not looking forward to it.

If you are a member of Costco, they have some good deals on appliances. Also, they offer free delivery, installation, parts needed for installation and free haul away of old appliances. They offer a 2 year warranty. Some places charge for haul away and parts for installation. I bought my washer and dryer from them. Just an FYI.

Good news...........thought for sure you were going to say...delivery was cancelled due to snow storm.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 So glad they got it in before the snow made it difficult. It looks like you are going to get a fair amount. Happy cooking and baking!

When it's time to replace the appliances, please be sure to read the reviews and even check on this board to avoid costly mistakes.
Hope you don't need to do this any time soon, lol !

Yes, it is an electric stove. The old one was purchsed in 2006. It was a Whirlpool. Glass top and self cleaning.
The new one is almost an exact match to the old one except it is a GE. DD picked it out and bought it. We had a lively discussion for weeks as to who was buying the stove. She was he&& bent on paying for it. She wouldn't even agree to splitting the cost. Darn kid.
Happily, you don't need to be a NASA engineer to use it.
