I retired and moved to Myrtle Beach in August, so this year my brothers came to me for a week in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner on Dec 12,2010. I made all the dishes our Grandmother used to make when we were kids, (being the only girl in the entire family, I am the only one with all the receipes) needless to say we had a great time and it was the first time in 15 years that my brothers and I were together for a holiday dinner.

My grandparents were born and raised in South America, so it was nice to have some of the foods we ate as kids while my brothers were visiting. We had flan, macaroni pie, black eyed beans and rice w/ ham, rum cake, pickled onions, chow chow, curried chicken, and of course, the traditional turkey dinner.
