@Winifred I copied and pasted your title and post from the February thread to begin a March thread.
"Had those WOK veggies again last night. I really like them - a LOT!!! So easy to fix and so good and so many things go with them. Or you can just eat them by themselves - that too is good. However I also - once again - bought some orange chicken as Davey loves that stuff. I do also but occasionally some I buy is just too spicy for me. Have not yet found them like always use to . Very simply to buy a pkg of orange chicken and they were NEVER spicy. Now they put my mouth on fire - just cannot stand the spice. Yes, I read what it says but perhaps I need to take a dictionary with me to figure out just HOW spicy they really are. Ahhh, for the simple life. Davey is still holding up well in school - all A';s again this past week. Now someone tell me why he spent four years with ALL F's.
Suppose to be raining steady AGAIN through next Thursday. They keep changing the days of no rain versus rain and it is driving me insane. Rarely real accurate but bottom line is we have just had enough rain for quite a spell. The ground is not absorbing much of the water.
Tonight it will be me and two cats in the house - should be an easy dinner menu. LOL. I do have some of those veggies left so may have them and some fruit - no way am I standing over the stove tonight. DAvey went to spend the weekend with his Mother. That is good!
Have a great day everyone."

Last night I prepared tostadas, tonight will be leftover pasta for DH, and don't know about myself yet, maybe the leftover soup from the other night.
Tomorrow, I will fry chicken with Italian green beans and maybe creamed corn which I make with corn and heavy cream. I plan to make an apple crisp also, will eat it for breakfasts this week.
When I go to Home Goods, I usually buy several packages of pasta. This pasta from Italy takes forever to cook, but the tagliatelle that I made for the crab sauce the other night was delicious, very silky, different from the usual pasta texture.
I am trying to finish the Easter decorating and Fairy garden today, so many distractions, as usual.
I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. ![]()

It’s rainy, and 37 degrees here in southern West Virginia. By late evening, rain is to change over to snow and cover us with about 3” by morning. Weather people are saying to expect a messy early morning commute tomorrow, which will likely mean a delay for schools.
Meatloaf, macaroni salad, and oven roasted potatoes are on the menu for today.
Am also making cherry bread per teacher daughters request. I just use a banana bread recipe and add chopped maraschino cherries, and juice. She looked for cherry bread on the Bob Evans menu when we ate there Thursday night, which is what brought on my agreement to make some. I don’t make a lot of sweets unless the girls ask for something special, and help get it out of the house.

Hi Guys ......... If I am making a crockpot split pea and ham soup but the ham I am using is a boneless ham steak, do I add it at the beginning? Will it fall apart after spending so much time in the crockpot.....TIA..

I always add mine in later, because I don’t want it to fall apart.

@Danky I agree with @RedTop. If it were a ham hock, it would go in first and when cooked, removed and fat skimmed, then add peas, carrots, etc. until cooked, then add the ham hock meat, all skin and fat removed. You really won't get much flavor in the soup broth from the ham steak, but when eating it, of course you would have flavor.

@mousiegirl and @RedTop -------thanks ! I got 5 ham steaks at $1.99 each and THEN thought about making the soup...should have bought a ham hock but it simply slipped my mind.......a ham is a ham but not in this case !

Supper tonight was BBQ ribs, oven potatoes, and macaroni salad. Very tasty, and we enjoyed it.
