Pretty good deal, considering it includes the 64 oz container, as well as the dry container. But SO disappointing in that it is just the two speed model...high or low, no variable option.
For those waiting on this TSV, think twice about not having a variable speed version. You are limiting yourselves with only two speeds. Many people that have purchased a two-speed model have had regrets over not picking up a variable speed version instead.

Nice tip.

You're correct. I have this model and HATE it. It only purees food. It's way too fast even on low to chop anything and everything sticks to the bottom unless a lot of liquid is added.
I use my food processor everyday and my Vitamix only when I need a blender. It's one expensive power blender and not worth the money to me.

How does it compare to Costco's 5200 super package. When I looked at the specifications on vitamix.com, there was not much difference. Warranty is 7yrs for Costco & 5 yrs for the Q Vitamix. I am assuming turbo is the lower end/less power?

Drats, are we sure this is the 2/16 TSV? I was hoping for another model.

The big difference between the packages, aside from the 2 additional years of warranty with the Costco package, is that the 5200 has the variable speed control knob and the QVC TSV does not... it only has two speeds. I consider the lack of a variable speed control to be a deal breaker regardless of how low it's priced.
I own two Vitamix machines... my 5000 that I've had for 12 years and will likely never wear out, and my Pro 750 that I bought last February. Both machines have the variable speed control, a feature that I would not be without, and both machines will quite likely outlast me.
Because Vitamix machines last so very long, and because they are so expensive, I would not advise anyone to "settle for" a model that may have a good price but lacks a wanted feature, because this is not an item that should be purchased with the thought in mind that it's not exactly what you want but you can just replace it in a few years when it wears out.
As much as I love, rely on, and use my Vitamix machines, and believe me I use them a lot, I would never consider buying one that does not have the variable speed control, regardless of its price.

Agreed, everyone seems to find uses for the variable speeds. Here's a page with some further information about the Vitamix Creations Turbo Package. If you don't want this package, going for a reconditioned machine is a good way to save money. I bought a refurbished 7500 and love it.

I'd definitely stick with one that has variable.
I'd also probably not buy it from QVC, but that's just me. I got mine from Vitamix and it has the full 7 year warranty. I worry about these models that are slammed out by the tens of thousands for a QVC sale. Those seem to be the only ones about which I often read complaints.
The good thing is that Vitamix is an outstanding company and they will take care of you. But I'd rather just buy from them, or Costco, or another reputable retailer that isn't selling 20,000 of them in one shot, out of the gate and not have to worry about quality concerns.

I don't think there's any reason to believe that the QVC-sold Vitamixes are of lower quality than those sold by other retailers. They're made in the same factory, and I would assume they are made at the same rate as the other models.
That said, QVC does not always have the best value. As I mentioned above, the reconditioned units are a great deal.
