Puck was providing a very fair market comparison. Everytime that he mentioned Vitamix, he said that it is a goodmachinea good machine it was. As he said --- I don't knock Vitamix, it's a great machine but very expensive (sounds true to me}.

He replaced them in his restaurants and catering business on a cost basis not because of performance.

His product was being sold for $150 w no s&h charges as compared to about $450 or so for Vitamix at QVC.. His item has a 3 yr warranty as compared to 5 yrs. His machine is all metal and metal to metal gears. The bowl is slightly larger and BPA free.

His presentation for an infomercial was fair, balanced and informative. He never criticized Vitamix. He simply gave me reasons to buy his product.

I did not buy either item, but I respected HxN's and Pucks presentation.

Is the Vita Mix as noisy at home as it appears to be on TV? I have to turn the channel when they start mixing stuff and then shout over the presentation. I just don't want that much noise pollution in my home.

Yes, it's noisy, but then so is the vacuum cleaner. One thing about the Vitamix, though, is that it works quickly so you only have to deal with the noise for a very brief time. Unless you're making something hot, like soup which takes about 6 minutes, I think.

ITA. It's noisiest when it's dealing with frozen stuff (fruit, in my case, for my smoothies). BUT, it gets through it quickly, and the result? SO GOOD!!!! And healthy! YUM.

Ill tell ya, that is one ugly looking machine though. I did notice on one presentation awhile back that when he was making hot soup he actually had a heavy plastic cover over it. I said to myself, "self, that sure must be noisy for him to do that". I have the Ninja, love it although it is noisy as well. I guess you can't get away from that.

op, I heard that too from Wolf, and at the same time as David was pushing Vitamix on QVC. I just flipped between the two. It seemed like Wolf was listening to David. I always wonder how they manage to schedule similar sales together.

The VitaMix is a workhorse of a machine, I love mine and I think it's tacky that Wolfgang did that.

his product at one third the cost with a 3 year warranty should be considered as compared to a $450 maybe plus shipping.

it just makes sense -- common sense.

So let's compare.

How long has Puck's blender been around? Surely not the 40+ years of Vitamix.

Puck's blender is made in China, Vitamix is made in the USA.

Is Puck's blender used in nearly every top restaurant, bar and juice bar? I doubt it.

Why the heck do the hosts continue to talk..oops scream over the Vitamix mixing stuff? So irritating! And you can't hear anything they are saying, that is when I can not reach for the remote fast enough! UGG

My new Vitamix arrived yesterday! Talk about super fast shipping!{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} I, too, was flipping back and forth between HSN and "Q", and I kept hearing Wolfgang Puck referring to the Vitamix...How odd, usually a presenter will say, "The other product, or our competitor, etc". He wasn't being disrespectful, I just thought it was a bit odd. I have a Ninja, and have had problems getting the motor on the top of the container. It's irritating, and a lot of times with the three blades, stuff just doesn't get chopped, even though I cut up in even, smaller pieces. I did purchase the Nutribullet Pro 900 about a month ago, and then came my Consumer Reports, which said that on their samples that they tested, parts had broken off when processing.....Afraid of getting metal or plastic parts in my mouth, I called HSN and they contacted Nurtribullet and they paid for return shipping. So, here I am with my Vitamix..Hubby doesn't know the entire cost, but I am clearing out my other stuff. Tonight, we watched the video showing what you could do...See, you can make your pizza dough!!! Yeah, that might be another reason to keep it! Am looking forward to making my smoothies and the great soups that they show! Also, will be chopping up my own hamburger!{#emotions_dlg.lol}
