Re: Vidalia's Are Available - Who Is Your Favorite Grower?

I can buy them where I shop here in WA state--that is, until the Walla Walla sweets come in-----

The Shriners sell them in our area as a fund raiser.  I usually buy 3 ten lb. bags.  And yes, I can use them up before they spoil.  Pretty good for a two person family with the occasional house guest.

Re: Vidalia's Are Available - Who Is Your Favorite Grower?

@depglass   there's a veteran's group here in the NW Lower that makes a run to GA every year and sells them as a fundraiser.

While I've bought from them before, one year we had a very warm early Spring and the guys keep the onions in a sealed trailer so I passed.

I did check out Morris Farms and prices are excellent but no info on their shipper, UPS, Fed Ex so I'll give them a call.

Re: Vidalia's Are Available - Who Is Your Favorite Grower?

@Snowpuppy   I may not be remembering correctly but I think my order came from Morris Farms last spring via UPS.  Still probably a good idea to check with them via phone or e-mail.  They are so pleasant to interact with in my experience.

Was so glad that @sharke recommended them last year.

UPS works best here. FedEx Ground or Home is awful.

I did look at Bland Farms but it doesnt look like they ship.

Re: Vidalia's Are Available - Who Is Your Favorite Grower?

@Snowpuppy   In case you are still interested, and haven't located another supplier, the Vidalias I ordered on May 3 from Morris Farms were delivered by UPS tonight.  They are as good as the twenty pounds I ordered last year.

The cost was $38.95 for twenty pounds and no extra charge for shipping.

@aroc3435   Placed my order for 20#.

The absolute best price I could find on the internet for a grower who ships.
