I used to buy it shredded. I haven't bought it in a long time so I'm not certain if they sell it like that anymore but it was sold along side the other shredded cheeses. So it can be used on or in many dishes.

A sweet dish is Velveeta and apple "casserole." It can be a side with ham or pork loin or it can be a dessert. My DH loves it as a dessert.

I have some Honeycrisps in the fridge!!!! Can you post the recipe tea?

Apple/Velveeta Casserole

1 can of sliced apples (drained)

1 cup of sugar

3/4 cup of self-rising flower

1 stick margarine (If you want richer, use butter.)

1/4 pound of Velveeta (Cut in small cubes, about the size of dice.)

*****

Spread the apples in the bottom of a rectangular baking dish. Set aside.

Mix the sugar, flour, and cheese cubes.

Melt the margarine.

Spread sugar mix over apples.

Pour melted margarine over mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (Could be less depending on your oven.)

Serve as a side dish with a meal or with ice cream as a dessert. Yummy either way.

velveeta = manmade plastic that some folks actually think is a food product to eat.

SORRY if I've offended you but this is my opinion. If you're buying cheese all I ask is that you buy a better REAL cheese.

They don't make the chunks or the shreds. I buy the blocks this time of year and I usually see the other Velveeta products near the blocks.

I made this casserole dish once and it was good.....if you like lots of cheese. I would likely cut back a little on the Velveeta quantity next time, but that's just me.

Here's another vote for grilled cheese sandwiches!

Also, my sister make dumplings using the uncooked flour tortillas. She just cuts them into strips and drops them in the chicken broth..........and they are good!

I love macaroni and cheese with Velveeta topped with canned corned beef hash and those tiny potato cubes. I haven't had it in years, but it is the perfect meal to eat during a blizzard. I think I'll make that some snowy day this winter.
