Unexpected guests for Thanksgiving-help!

My folks have delayed their trip to see me a month. They will be here for Thanksgiving.

I use to cook Thanksgiving dinner every year. New problem: I lost 2 fingers & can't lift the turekey into the oven anymore. (Folks stay in a hotel, so I am on my own in getting the turkey started)

Has anyone tried a turkey beast in a slow cooker? How did it come out?
