@CrazyKittyLvr2. DH and I like taco salad, bbq chicken, hamburgers...we are not big eaters.

You can make cheesy potatoes using the frozen Obrien potatoes, already cut up, just add ingredients and bake.

I have made sheet pan meals a couple of times.  If you search pintrest you will find a variety of recipes.  I like it because we get a lot of veggies in one meal and he clean up is a breeze.

Everytime I ask dh what sounds good to pick up at the grocery....the only thing he reminds me to get is ice cream.......

This won't help you today, but when I find a recipe online I bookmark it, and pick one when I make my grocery list .

I don't want to start a run, but, news said yesterday pepperoni  is hard to  find now, that's the new toliet paper shortage. LOL

Pepperoni, is in short supply now.

Funny you mentioned pepperoni - I went to 3 different Sam's Clubs in July and early August. None of them had pepperoni. I kept looking and about 2 weeks ago they got restocked.

I wanted pepperoni for pasta salad.

Re: Ugh, Making A Grocery List...............

yeah, it's just so strange what pops up as the 'hot'  item that is in short supply.

I even bought online extra bra because I was scared there would be a run on the minimizer I buy. LOL

Hubbo said what next ? shoe polish ?

I think the pepperoni shortage has to do with the popularity of the shaqaroni pizza by Papa Johns. They're hogging all the  pepperoni for those super duper size  popular pizzas.  More people are having home  deliveries, or making their own and pepperoni is the most popular.

I went to allrecipes.com for ideas, I can usually count on that for inspiration, but I got nothing.

With the amount of cookbooks I have I should be a cooking fool.  Not happening.

DD just came up with steaks done in the Ninja Indoor Grill, with sweet corn and baked potatoes.  Yeah, we came up with 2 meals, tacos and steak.

I hope something catches my eye that sounds good. I hate going to the store.

I get allrecipes emails all day long and while they can be annoying they're helpful for ideas. I'm making some slow cooker pork chops today from one of their recipes.

Re: Ugh, Making A Grocery List...............

@CrazyKittyLvr2   Even the best of home cooks can get in a rut.  If you type in AUGUST 2019 RECIPE GAME the QVC forum recipes come up and in its 8 pages you might find some ideas for this time of year.

I try to keep condiments and seasonings  on hand to do stir fries spur of the moment.

I roast my own chicken, but you can use the supermarket's version, to do various chicken casseroles--chicken divan, or tetrazzini.

Peg Bracken's I Hate to Cook chicken and rice casserole is easy and very good.

How about shrimp scampi served over rice or pasta?

Baked cod with butter or a simple mornay or ravigote sauce served on a bed of spinach?

If you bake a small ham you have the leftover makings for a casserole.  If a pork loin is on sale you can do a lot with the leftovers.

Meat loaf is quick and easy and there are so many ways to jazz it up.  Baked potato and frozen green beans are easy sides for it.

Weather is supposed to get up in the 90's again next week, so a loaded chef's salad is always good.  Pasta salads fill the bill for me many times.

Hope one of these ideas helps.

Re: Ugh, Making A Grocery List...............

When everything else palls, there's always TATER TOTS. While they're baking, you might as well make a burger or a steak. Some sliced tomatoes and sweet onion on the side would be nice. And didn't you make some awesome brownies a while back?

That sounds like dinner to me. Make enough steak and you can slice leftovers tomorrow and have a big steak salad. Nom, nom, nom.

I am the opposite, @May5 .  I would go grocery shopping any day, but it is the cooking what I brought home that I hate!
