@Sage04 It's aaaaaaaa CHERRY

Wanted apple first - oh well - -heavy with filling - haven;t cut yet but a little red juice

spilled out and (strange) ,,...... left no mark on crust.  Crust top just lifted up ..... pie spit and crust laid down.  Perhaps designed that way  LOL

Re: Turn back for pie...................

[ Edited ]

My nephew called today to request his annual chocolate cream pie for his birthday.  A good aunt always obliges:

Crust:

13 graham cracker rectangles crushed into crumbs

2 tbsp sugar

7 tbsp butter, melted

Stir everything in bowl to moisten, then press into bottom and sides of pie plate.  Bake at 350 degrees until light golden, 8-10 minutes.  Let cool.

Filling:

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolatre chips

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp vanilla

Pinch of salt

Pour chips in bowl. Pour barely steaming cream over chips and let sit for 2 minutes.  Stir until glossy and thick.  Stir in vanilla and salt.

Pour evenly over cooled crust and refrigerate overnight.

Place mixing bowl in refrigerator to chill to whip topping in tomorrow.

Topping:

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

Whip cream in chilled bowl with electric mixer.  Whip in sugar and vanilla to form soft peak.  Spoon onto top of pie and chill before serving

@fthunt    So, we're waiting on a report on the quality of the pie.  Was it worth the $$$?

Re: Turn back for pie...................

@Kachina624 @Effie54 Worth the $$$  No and Yes    Liked the story about saving horses, kids w/ith roadside sign.........to sell mom's pies

It was apple and it's expecting a lot to cook raw apples from rock solid frozen state in 80 mins i.... ...so too many chewy pieces.

Have #2 pie in freezer & I'll put that one in refrig for 2 days before baking....see how that works.  Hope it's cherry - don't remember what I ordered

Vendor should bake and then ship but baking adds cost to her.

............my mom made the best pies!

Hey there, thanks for the update. I've had the same problem when I baked a frozen pie. The next time I did so, I took it out of the freezer the night before so the bottom crust cooks well. Cool story. I hope the next one is 🍒
