I saw mashed sweet potatoes in the freezer case at Trader Joe's. Never ate them,so decided to give them a try. When I open the package,I saw slices of sweet potatoes. I put them in the microwave, following directions on the package, Got my masher out of the drawer and ready to use. Microwave buzzed. Upon looking in the bowl, the potatoes came out of the microwave mashed! No mashing necessary. Just added a little seasoning and done. We loved them.
Anyone else see or try these? I definitely will buy again. Any other new goodies I missed?

I've tried their regular frozen mashed potatoes, but not these. Will definitely look for them the next time I go to Trader Joe's. Thanks for the info

I've never tried this product but they are easy to make and both of us really like mashed sweet potatoes.
I make mine by rubbing them in olive oil and a little s&p, then baking them in the oven. Take them out and de-skin them (sweet potato skins don't go as well in mashers as white potato skins do), then I hand-mash them with a fair amount of butter, grate some asiago in there, and s&p. Yum ![]()

If you are in a hurry or just too tired to make mashed potatoes from scratch their regular mashed potatoes are delicious and I would think their mashed sweet potatoes would be as well. Will have to look into them now that fall is here . . . thanks for the head's up!

I haven't tried those and no Trader Joe's here that I know of, but my new find, really like the taste is Sweet potatoes. Hubby likes them too and didn't think he liked them either. Early Christmas present, LOL, but I'll try and look for that. Was it a TJ's only product or some other company?

Thanks for telling us about these. I'll put them on my list!

I think the easiest way to make a small amount of mashed potatoes is to cook them (boil, steam or roast) and put them through a ricer then stir in what you want to add.

I hope the OP doesn't mind me butting in here but both potato products at TJ's are TJ's own brand. There may be other similar products in other grocery store chains but I can only speak to the TJ version and they are great!

Are the ingredients just sweet potatoes, or do they add other ingredients? If they are just sweet potatoes I'm definitely interested and will check it out next time I'm there.

I don't know if they add anything but I will check next time I am in a TJ. I would hope as TJ usually has relatively healthy things whatever they do add won't be something completely artificial.
