Has anyone tried the brined turkey from Trader Joe? It's more expensive than the turkey's in the supermarket but those are not brined. Is it worth it?
TIA

YES....totally worth it. They are juicy & moist & very tasty.
It's better to spend more $$ on good-quality meat/poultry rather than focusing on price.

@reiki604 We have bought one for the last 4 years and think they are worth the extra cost. Very moist after cooking.

Does the brine add any taste to the turkey or just moisture

No, you can't taste anything "extra". It also helps to make an excellent gravy.

I just bought one at my TJs. Thanks for the heads up! I assume you rinse the turkey before baking?

Yes, I always rinse the turkey before cooking.

Could you all share how you actually season the turkey after it is well rinsed? Do you loosen the skin and rub a herbed butter mixture underneath? Season with more herbs? This is my first time for a TJ brined turkey. Oil the outside skin? Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Can this brined turkey be used in a fryer? I’ve brined them at home for years, but would love to skip this step if I could use one already brined.
