I came across this baking matt and it looks cool, but I have no idea what the 'handle' (??) is for..? or how to use this..? The description says marking for evenly spaced cookes, but I don't see markings for cookies..? Has anybody seen this, or one similar? Does it go on a baking sheet? What is that part that looks like a 'handle'..?
Thanks

There are inch markings for each circle of pictures when you zoom in on the picture. Not sure why the "tail" or handle as you call it is there. I personally don't like the silicone mats which you do place on a sheet for baking in the oven. I always use parchment paper.

@msh8970I have one that looks similar and I use the tail thing to pull the mat off the cookie sheet to a cooling rack and then slide the cookies onto a cooling rack.

I just threw all my silicone mats out and I'm going back to parchment paper.
I could never get the gross oil slick off them no matter how many times I washed them.

I decided I didn't like baking on a silicon mat, and I'm using parchment paper these days.
But I do have a large silicon mat. I use it (on my counter) for rolling out cookie dough for cut-out cookies, pie dough, scones, etc. Nothing sticks to it, and it protects the counter.

I agree @CelticCrafter-----I bought Silpat mats 100 years ago and , even though I hardly ever used them, they dis colored and we're always greasy feeling.........A roll of parchment or nonstick foil works beautifully.

I bet the handle is something that wraps around the mat after it is rolled to store.
You wouldn't have markings for cookies because you roll dough and use a cookie cutter on this. It's probably non stick and it would be great to put in the freezer before rolling pie dough.
