I have had cookies turn out the same way because the butter was too soft. Now I make sure that it is cool to the touch, and a finger can leave an indent. That usually takes about an hour.

 

I am so sorry about your sweet kitty. Our 18 year old dear, sweet kitty passed away in December. My daughter literally grew up with him, and we were able to be with him at the end. 💖

leaves a hole in the family when we lose a beloved pet.

So sorry for the loss of your precious little fur baby ❤️. She was so cute.

The cookies I'm sure tasted fine. I am not a great baker but at least I know my attempts usually taste good & get gobbled up by my DH & DS!

I highly doubt that.  I melt my butter when making Toll House Cookies and they never turn out like that.

 

She probably forgot to add an ingredient.
