Re: Thanksgiving in July? Feeling kind of weird about it...

This morning I was just thinking how great a full Thanksgiving meal would be, even in 105º weather.   When I was married back in the 80's and 90's I usually surprised my husband and son during the summer with a smaller version of our T.giving dinner.  It was treat from all the hot dog holidays that surrounds us during that time.

Heck, why not?  If it's weird, I've been weird, too.

I've done it in the past, but now that I'm mostly alone, I'll occasionally go for a turkey roll, breast, or maybe some legs.

I guess it depends on how much you like turkey. I happen to like it. Some people don't care for it even during the holiday season.

I love turkey so I'd enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving type meal any time of the year.

In the winter, after January, I'll do a turkey breast in the crock pot and make a casserole size of dressing.

It's also nice to have a few "real" turkey sandwiches.

Deli turkey tastes like paper to me.

Enjoy your meal!  I just don't want that much heat in the house in the summer.

On another note, are you retired now?

Some of your responses had me laughing out loud!  "Swinging through trees" and "just a big chicken"!  So funny!

I'm planning to substitute teach this coming school year - hopefully no more than two days a week.

Enjoy!  I miss teaching very much but keep our customers laughing!

On another note, I think you'll really enjoy the link I just put up about Dexter in Among Friends.  This segment would be wonderful for children!!!
