Re: Temptations lid it cracked in half in oven

In my opinion getting a replacement for the price of shipping is not "fair."

happygal, I totally agree with your statement.Because the OP receved a lidit that cracked, she should not have paid any shipping charges for a return.

I do hope that happygal will protest over the shipping charges.

Re: Temptations lid it cracked in half in oven

[ Edited ]

I had the large casserole baker break in half as I was removing it from the hot oven, when low and behold it cracked in 1/2 in my hands, and as I dropped it and jumped back, the remaining defecting contents exploded on impact when they hit the kitchen floor.

Shards of dangerous stoneware all over, along with the hot cooked food.

Dangerous shards and hot cooked food with sauce on the floor, underneath my appliances, underneath everything, on the walls, and I was certainly very blessed, because I was not severely burned or injured.

I was truly speechless, shocked and stunned into silence, as were my dinner guests, who also witnessed this Temptations horrific defective product occurence, from my open concept floor plan.

"My dinner guests could not believe their eyes, and neither could I as the Temptations Consumer".

They all asked the name of the defective casserole baker and I told them it is called Temptations. They offered to help move the large heavy moveable kitchen appliances so we could clean underneath them, but I left it all as is, and did not want to tackle that dangeorus tedious job at that time.

That night the Temptations brand gave us a very informative and highlydangeorus unpredictable demonstration, which was certainly great advertising and insight, for what their highly unpredictable dangerous cheap imported junk ware can do.

It certanly gave a 1st hand product demo as to how dangerous a  Temptations cheap imported bakeware product can be, and the dangers that occur when a Consumer uses it according to the explicit Manufacturer's directions, and still has this type of very frightening Temptations defect occurance happen.

OH JOY..... WHAT AN EXPERIENCE IT WAS INDEED, ESPECIALLY THE DANGEROUS CRACKING AND PRODUCT EXPLOSION OF YOUR BELOVED LARGE TEMPTATIONS CASSEROLE BAKER, AS WELL AS THE JOY OF CLEANING UP YOUR TEMPTATIONS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT MESS! THANKS A LOT TEMPTATIONS DEFECTIVE BRAND, BUT IN FUTURE NO THANKS!

My remaining vast Temptations Collections were trashed by me. Got the hammer and broke them all into smithereens.

I decided on the spot not to donate or sell my remaining vast Temptations Collections I still had.

I did not want to ever wonder if anyone else had also been shocked, stunned into silence, or badly burned and hurt by this Temptations shoddy, dangerously cheap  highly unpredictable defectively manufactured stoneware.

Now  I really love, and so greatly appreciate my  Cornflower Blue Corning Ware, and other Corning Ware patterns.... going on 40+ years of usage. I also inherited my beloved Mom's vast collection in addition to also having my own.

I also have Pyrex ware for many decades, and love my FIestaware too, as well as my fairly new Greek hand fired, lead free, hand painted one of a kind European stoneware, which offer same attributes as my Corning Ware, and that Made in Greece, hand fired lead free painted one of a kind Greek Stoneware cook and serveware set I bought is also really beautiful, and thus far performs as expected. (Freezer, refrigerator, oven, convection oven, tableware, serve ware).

Many tried and true brands of yester-year have already made a comeback with newer cooks, as they have proven thier durabiity, and remain truly dependable through the years. Additionally they are also very attractive, as well as being extremely multifunctional.

They perform exactly as advertised, and for me the Corning Ware & Pyrex Ware brands have really safely with predictability, withstood the test of time of many decades of use, and that says it all.

They will maintain their dependability and perfection for many decades yet to come, just as my vast various tried and true collections, mentioned herein have.

They will continue to perform and remain dependable through many years of use still to come, and that is a lot more than I can say for the Temptations brand, and other cheap brands which did not last, were defective, and have proven to be unpredictably dangerous, to Consumers world wide.

Re: Temptations lid it cracked in half in oven

I have read so many horrific stories about Temptations for a couple of years.  What I just cannot comprehend is why people continue to buy and would even want replacements and then pay a charge.  That is just ludicrous and should tell you something about this company.   But more important, is WHY DOES THE Q continue to sell these defective products?  Are they waiting for a lawsuit when someone gets seriously injured?   Really, I just don't get it.  People who have experienced serious breakage should be getting in touch with Consumer Affairs and/or the Attorney Generals office. IMO, this line needs to be taken off the market.

Yes, I had the biggest oval temptation dish with a fresh batch of cheese mac.in the oven for some Holliday and it cracked completely in half.  I called customer service, but they didn't have a replacement, so I just had to through it away, money out the door.

Very scary stories.....took all my Temptations and threw them in the trash.....wouldn't even donate them for fear someone would get hurt.....husband asked me what the heck I was doing!  Back to my vintage Pyrex.......

I did exactly the same thing .... they all went in the trash!!!!! .... for the life of me I don't understand why people keep buying this stuff after having a bad experience!!!!!

I agree why buy another Temptations replacement if this Temptations brand product already proved to be dangerous to begin with?

Where is them common sense in purchasing again?

Re: Temptations lid it cracked in half in oven

I have had a few lids crack in the oven on the 1st use.  I also bought the "up the butt chicken" pan and it cracked with the poor bird on it about 1/2 hr. into baking.  Very scarey!   I really wish QVC would get away from selling Temptations.  I won't be buying any more and am thinking about giving away or selling the collections I have.

I would be afraid to use Temptations for anything but as a serving piece. Some of the newer Pyrex has done this also.

I still use my Corningware....never failed me over the years

How many times do we hear about TT breaking?  Quit buying this junk and stick with Fiesta.
