Is it carved and then coated? I don't want to have food get stuck inside the pattern.

It is carved but it is coated and food does  not stain it.

I agree

Have tons of the Blue Floral Lace.  Nothing has ever been stuck in the pattern!

@mjmm - The pattern is engraved and then the whole piece is coated multiple times—a video shared by Temp-tations a few years ago showed that they embed the pattern and cover it with an initial clear/white glaze, cover that with the colored glaze, and then cover everything with a final clear coat. I've never had any issues with the engraving on my Floral Lace items; if you decide to purchase something, I hope you enjoy it!

A bit off topic, but I've been buying Floral Lace in chocolate for years and wouldn't you know, it appears that they have discontinued that color. It makes me so mad, as there are several new pieces that I want to buy, but they're not offered in the brown. I don't want to start with a new color at this point as my entire collection is in brown. Maybe they'll bring it back eventually like they did with the hello yellow.

@JamesRW2  Amazon has the pattern you have in brown, not sure if they offer anything new but just wanted to let you know so you can check it out to see if there is anything you may like.

I had one piece of blue floral lace, 10" shallow baker used for quiche. No problem with food sticking, problem with the pattern coming off. Blue floral lace was going gray with patches showing through the bottom.

The vessel was never in the dishwasher (only handwashed) and I did not place a hand mixer in it, as I've seen done with Temptations. Granted, I had it for a few years, but it went out the door on my last purge.

The blue floral lace item was a one off, as I normal collect Old World Confetti. No problems to date with a confetti pattern item. Waiting on a Woodland White shallow dish now to use in the future. Hope it holds up.

Have a great day all!
