Hi Everyone,
I have recently become interested in owning a pressure cooker. However, b/c of the way our family eats, I'm not sure it would be worth it for us. So I wanted to ask the experts here. My children are omnivores, my DH eats some meat after years of being a vegetarian, but I only eat fish (the only "meat" products I consume). I don't cook regular meat in the house and my kids and DH eat beef or other meat when we go out to dinner, etc. That said, can I still happily own a pressure cooker?? I see lots of recipes for meat entrees done in a pressure cooker and wonder if it would be useful for the majority of meals that I make--which include pastas, grains, beans, etc.
Any insight? Years ago I didn't think it would be "worth it" for us to own a crock pot for the same reasons. But I ADORE my crockpot and use it frequently (soups, stews, etc). I like th idea of a pressure cooker saving me time and energy at the end of the day when I'm not in one of those I-Want-to-stand-by-the-stove-for-hours-and-create-something moods!
TIA
