I am wondering if there were any taxes on food items ordered. I’ve never ordered yet and am sitting on the fence.
TIA.

It depends on whether or not food is taxable where you live.

Just adding my two-cents' worth to agree with others: It depends on your state and local tax laws. Here's the information QVC has posted in the "Customer Service & FAQs" section of the website:

QVC collects sales tax as required under federal and state law.

QVC is registered with your state to collect sales or use tax, as appropriate, on taxable items shipped to your state. Most states require that we tax Shipping & Handling as well. The passage of the Internet Tax Freedom Act and similar state statutes has no effect on QVC's current obligation to collect such taxes. Please note that sales and use tax collected is remitted by QVC to your state taxation authority as required by law. These monies are not retained by QVC. The sales tax amount displayed online is an estimate. The actual sales tax will be calculated when your order is completed and displayed on your order summary and/or packing slip.

How tax is calculated...

The amount of tax charged on your order depends on various factors including the following:

  • The type of item or service purchased
  • The shipment or delivery address of your order

These factors can change between the time you place an order and when your shipment is complete. As a result, the tax calculated on your order may change. We display an "Estimated Tax" to be collected at Check Out when confirming an order. The amounts displayed as estimated tax may then be updated later when your order is finalized and completed. The tax rate applied to your order will be the combined state and local rates of the address where your order is delivered to. For example, if you live in a state that does not impose a sales tax, you may still see tax calculated on your order if shipped to another state. The tax rates applied to your order may also be different for a variety of reasons, such as a shipment to a residential home versus a business address. Also, the total selling price of an item will generally include shipping and handling charges, discounts, and other charges. If applied at an order level, these charges may be allocated to the individual items in an order.

  • Note: No tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.
