I have been so tempted many times when QVC has had a Vitamix as the TSV, but, I just can't reconcile myself to spending that much money on a blender. Does anyone have this model and if so, do you like it.? Why are they offering only a 5 year warranty on this one when some other models go 10 years?

After watching the Vitamix presentation, I remembered I needed a new Tamper. Definitely won't order it from their website. For a $12 item, it will cost about $11!! Amazon to the rescue!!

@moon_gazer, I can't say this is 100% positive since I didn't look at every blender, but I did look at some of the most expensive models on Vitamix's website and the best warranty they had is 7 years. It can be upgraded for a price as can the 5 year warranty.

I have a Kitchen Aid blender and love it for my protein smooties (Nutrisytsem chocolate--yum!). If you use it mainly for smooties, why spend so much for a VItamix? My pretty yellow Kitchen Aid has held up for years!

I ended up ordering the Kitchen Aid Diamond blender online at Bed Bath and Beyond in the Raspberry Ice. The blender was $129.00 so I used the 20% coupon I had and along with free shipping I saved $26.00. It arrived in a brown box within two days and the box inside had a Kitchen Aid box like I would buy in a store. Sometimes things from QVC come in a plain box when you open the box they arrive in. Not good if giving as a gift.

It is the exact color as shown online and is very quiet even crushing ice. It is easy to clean and fits under my cabinets on my counter. I am very happy with it and it has a 5 year warranty.

I am happy I didn't get the Vitamix as it was way more than I needed.

I'm not thrilled with my Vitamix either.  Doesn't seem to work as easily as when they demo them on QVC.  Now I have it in a cabinet--so you know what that means.  Seldom use it.  (had it 5+ years, I think)
