I just wanted to let any and all of you that have ever served this country, and to all of you that have raised someone that has served, or is serving in the Armed Services now, a gratitude of THANKS for putting yourself in harms way, just to give me the privilege to have all of the freedoms that I have........I thank you for protecting those freedoms, so that I may live in a country that is a safer place to live, than in a great deal more countries today.....You give up so much to protect this country, and I appreciate every day, what you do, more than mere words can say here....May you all look in the mirror, and know that you made a difference in the lives of so many people......I also salute all of the dogs that have also served this country to protect those soldiers, and have given them that extra protection and guidance, so they are safer........in order to protect this great country.......A special Veterans Day thanks........YOU ALL ARE HEROES......

Well said Forrestwolf! I would like to print this out & take it to the USO at O'hare tomorrow (where I volunteer) if it's ok with you?
Like you said in your other post, I've lost it also, I do "meet & greets" for the Wounded Warrior program, these "guys" are the greatest! They are so humble & independent, it breaks my heart
Thank You for verbalizing what so many of us feel

Please.......tell them that a nurse in Georgia wishes she could thank them all........and I did work at Ft Benning during Desert Storm, and now live just a stones throw from Moody AFB, and here when troops are coming home, I know, as they come home generally in the middle of the night, and I am in their flight pattern path...........Doesn't bother my sleep........

Forrestwolf...that is beautifully said!
I live near a major base and there are many military and ex-military families in my neighborhood and the surrounding ones. On clear nights in the summer I can hear the night manuevers and often have military aircraft fly over my house or one of roads I drive on. I just consider all these things part of the sounds of freedom and I'm grateful.
