Went to the store and found huge, fresh turkey legs.
Just the two of them were so large, that the tops of the leg bones had to be sawn off to fit the crock pot.
So, I made mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce with orange flavor and grated rind, gravy and carrots.
The house smelled like Thanksgiving and we now have leftovers for at least two more meals.
Knowing how hard it is to find frozen cranberries all year round, I stock up in November, cause I make them whenever I have chicken or in this case, turkey.
Too tired to make dessert tho.
Anyone else like to make some dishes during the year that remind you of a holiday?

I generally don't eat meat...but once in a while I just have to have a turkey and dressing TV dinner. That's what I had today....and it was 113° outside...

Sweet potato's, when ever I have them.

Mmmm, I love turkey legs and love to eat them any time of the year provided I can find them fresh in the meat dept. What I have seen lately is the legs that are already smoked and all you do is warm them up, I don't care for those at all.

I just had one this past Saturday night. I indulge in the gravy. I did do Stove Top instead of homemade dressing and did the regular Thanksgiving sides except no cranberry sauce. Not my thing. It is fun to do one every now and then on a much smaller scale.

I love sweet potatoes and have them often, roasted sliced with salt and pepper tossed with some olive oil.
Saw someone use sweet potatoes as a base for avocado toast vs using bread. Was tasty but all fairly mushy lol.

Most definitely. Have corned beef & cabbage a couple times a year in addition to St Patrick's day.
If I have a craving for Thanksgiving flavors I'll use Stove Top turkey stuffing either stand alone as a side dish or Stove Top meatloaf, really tasty and moist.

I do make a turkey-like dinner during the warmer months but I generally will use just a turkey breast or a roaster chicken. I love it and sometimes I freeze a bit of my homemade stuffing at Thanksgiving and when I do it with that it's a real treat!

Yes, with Christmas in July, why not have Thanksgiving in June.
