I was just doing my weekly grocery shopping and, lo and behold, what do I see...TEMPTATIONS!!!  I had to look to make sure and it said Tempations.  The prices were beyond ridiculously cheap compared to the prices on QVC.  There was a woman next to me and she asked if that is the same stuff they sell on QVC and I told her it was.  She said she purchased some at QVC but never will  again. She said what I was thinking, 'Made in China' junque. The quality was the same in our grocery store but the prices were a far cry from what QVC sells them for.  They had that 4-piece mug set with nesting holder for $7.99.  That Tara is laughing all the way to the bank.  She has never nor will she ever, see a penny from me.

@docsgirl  Can you name a longtime QVC vendor who you believe is not highly financially successful?

I can't.

I agree with you but who made them financially successful?

Absolutely nothing wrong with Tara laughing as she banks her well earned wealth.

I applaud her success.

I use my Temp-tations every day and enjoy them very much. I don’t consider them “junque” but you do you.

I totally agree with you RollTide2008. I use mine every day and love them.

I'm a fan of woodland white and old world taupe. I get complements on them all the time.

@docsgirl

I don't care for it either, and wouldn't buy it from Q or take it if someone gave it to me...

BUT...I would bet the store where you saw it determined the selling price for that particular store....I doubt Tara has ANY input on that...the markup on all Q's stuff is tremendous....!!

Remember ...when you were in the grocery store, there weren't two pajama clad hosts jumping around yelling and selling it to you!!! (/S)...and then shipping it across country to your door!!!

Anyway....Q will keep selling it for as much as the traffic will bear...thankfully we can all look other places!!!

Now....I bet the guy who sells the magical hat that grows hair laughs all the way to the bank too....for a different reason!!!

Re: TEMPTATIONS

[ Edited ]

QVC off-loads pallets of overstock for many, many brands that wholesalers purchase and sell to retail stores.

I recently saw a new shipment of Temptations (the tea kettles) in a local discount store, Lot-Less.

I've made purchases there and from QVC.

They also have a lot of LocknLock.

Tara made her money multiple steps back in the retail chain.  Not buying from the grocer didn't impact her.
