🍓 Strawberry Shortcake 🍓

I had my first strawberry shortcake of the season yesterday for my birthday treat, and I had a second helping tonight. It is one of my favorite desserts and I have to have it with a biscuit, ( KFC ) . How do you fix your shortcake ? 🍓

@QVCkitty1 We love strawberry shortcake. I just make the shortcake recipe on the Bisquick box.

After I split the bisquick and add strawberries I put a little 1/2 n 1/2 on it. No idea when or why I started doing it.

Darn, now I will not be happy until I make some.

As a kid I loved strawberry shortcake, but as an adult not so much. I love strawberry, blueberry, blackberry flavor, but don't eat berries now as my system doesn't like them.

I do buy the packs of individual shortcakes, berries, and cool whip for my family 1-2x during the summer. I eat my shortcake with juice off the berries and lots of cool whip, but absolutely NO strawberries. Sometimes my family wants angel food cake or pound cake with the berries, instead of the shortcakes.

When it comes to strawberry shortcake, we like a base of lemon pound cake.

I toss a pound of sliced berrries in a bowl with 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Let them sit at room temperature for a couple of hours to macerate.

I love strawberry shortcake, Ilike it with pound cake or angel food cake. My husband likes to put strawberries over twinkies with whip cream on top.

@QVCkitty1 that sounds so good right now! I use to make a strawberry parfait with cubed pound cake a layer of sliced strawberries and a layer of whipped cream and then you repeat the layers. So good!

Wow! @QVCkitty1 ! I just had KFC last night, and while I almost never eat the biscuits I had the thought that they would be excellent for strawberry shortcake!

We always had it made with cream of tarter biscuits, and that is the definitive strawberry shortcake for me. If you go to a bakery or supermarket today and ask if they have cream of tarter biscuits you will be looked at like you just landed from Jupiter.

As much as I love strawberry shortcake, I will pass it up if it is on pound cake or those heinous little cup shaped shells. This KFC brainstorm means there is a real treat in my immediate future!
