Strawberries

Today, the local TV station covered the story of the strawberry from field to table.

One thing they stressed is that STRAWBERRIES ARE NOT WASHED before shipping to the supermarkets. They begin to 'breakdown' after washing.

Today all packing and shipping is automated and berries do not go through a packing shed like they did years ago. I've eaten them fresh all my life, but today is a different day!
