Re: Stock vs Broth...is there a difference?

Knorr makes a highly concentrated form of both beef stock and chicken stock.  A tiny cup makes 3 1/2 cups of stock when water is added.  This has been a boon for me, getting a little old to lug cases or bags of cans down the hill from the car in the winter.

What you are referring to is Better Than Broth. I always have that in my fridge and is what I use when I don’t have homemade.

It’s actually 1 TSP for one cup of water.

I use all the flavors they have. Or at least I have found.

Beef

Chicken

Vegetable

Seafood

Good product.

Mine is not the same brand name, but the same type of product.

I buy Tone's at Sam's Club.

I've seen Better than Bouillon in the grocery stores.

I've only used chicken stock once, Swanson's, and I couldn't tell the difference between that and lesser expensive broth.

I use Better Than Bouillon that I get from either Walmart or Food Lion. I've never seen the low sodium version but I recommened you buy that one if you can find it as this is pretty salty.

Stock is made from the bones, broth from the meat.

Stock is richer and more flavorful.

Chicken broth uses bones. . . every recipe I have for it anyway.

Absolutely no difference in stock or broth when your dish is all said and done.

Be sure to buy the low sodium version!! The regular (pictured) is extremely salty! The low sodium has the true taste not just a highly salted taste.

@klajfakj,

There was a lively thread about this last January.

Consumer Reports top rated Knorr for flavor, which was also judged a Best Buy for value. I  ended up switching from Better Than Bullion to Knorr brand.

This link should take you there (if I did this right).
