Hi I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I purchased three of the Staub cast iron with enamel interior pans and I LOVE cooking in them. I had no idea what I was missing. However tonight after using one of the larger pots for the first time I noticed right after I washed it and was drying it that it had this white film all over the bottom of it. I almost died .....I didnt' raise the heat over med/high and nothing burned. we have soft water ( have a water softener installed) but we do have high lime etc that doesnt get filtered properly. I use Seventh Generation liquid detergent and I waited to wash it out until it had cooled down like the instructions said. I washed it again thinking it would wash off.....still there.....so then I took white vinegar and poured it in the bottom of the pan and let it soak a bit and the white film pretty much went away.......then I took a small amount of olive oil and rubbed it in the interior....a very small amount and now it looks decent.....what happened??? did I do something wrong? if there's anyone out there with some French Cookware wisdom Please pass it on.......I really want these pots to last....they are SO beautiful!!!!
