Re: Starbucks is adding $6 green smoothies to menu

I would prefer to make my own using my Vitamix also.

Re: Starbucks is adding $6 green smoothies to menu

I make my own at home as well, using my Blendtec & organic fruits/veggies. On the rare occasions that I buy one while I'm out running errands, I buy it from a local health food store (Fruitful Yield) They make the smoothies to order & they use the organic produce that they sell at their store. Another store that makes juices/smoothies is a grocery store called Mariano's. They sell organic produce but I'm not sure if that's what they use in the drinks.

For anyone in Chicago's NW suburbs, the Fruitful Yield is in Bloomingdale on Army Trail Road (in shopping center that has Jo Ann's Fabrics & Ulta in it) & the Mariano's is in Hoffman Estates at the corner of Barrington Rd & Golf Rd.

Re: Starbucks is adding $6 green smoothies to menu

There is a juice bar near me that sells fresh squeezed organic juices and smoothies for $8 = 16 oz. and $10 = $20 oz. Considering I drink at least one fresh squeezed juice or smoothie per day, I feel like my Vitamix and my juicer are good investments. I use my Vitamix for a lot of other things as well.

Green smoothies....Yuck!

I'd rather just eat my fruits and veggies...that's what teeth are made for.

Indeed. They look disgusting.

My daughter had one of their green drinks today - they had a $2 trial of them that ended 3/31. I tasted her drink, and almost all I could taste was cucumber. I told her I'd ask if they could cut back on the cucumber in mine, if I ordered that one. She said that it all comes pre-mixed, so you can't order special. I'm wondering (I guess I should go to the site and read) what it is they pre-make ahead of time...and how soon they make it.

I hope people start getting healthy, and it really could be convenient for a green drink here and there...but I couldn't make it a daily purchase at Starbucks to get healthy! I'd go broke...ha!

Premixed? Another excellent reason to make them at home.
