Speedy Oatmeal Cookies

In a bowl mix:

1 c brown sugar

1/2 c Crisco

1 egg

1/2 t baking soda

1/2 t baking powder

1/4 t salt

1 t vanilla

Then add:

1 c all purpose flour

1 c quick or old fashioned oatmeal, don't use instant

I used this recipe when I taught FACS (formally Home Ec.) . The kids liked them and they were easy to make.

I'm retired now, and teach a cooking class once a month at the Senior Center. We made these cookies last week. I demo the recipe and they get to sample. I also give them the recipe and give away a cookbook each month. Smiley Happy Smiley Happy Smiley Happy
