When I was first married, my long time girlfriend (even my maid of honor-lol) told me that her mother taught her, when choosing oranges, the ones with the uglier and thinner skins, spots and all, are the sweetest and juiciest oranges to eat. She was right! The oranges with the thicker, bright orange skins, may look nice, but don't taste that good.

We visited my in laws in Texas one year, we picked our own oranges and grapefruit, the ones off the tree's didn't look anything like what we buy in the store, they were called juice oranges, no food color on them, they were so sweet I get hungry for them just thinking about it.

I love oranges! They are my favorite fruit. I discovered that also...nice thin skin makes for a sweeter and juicier fruit.
