@Love my grandkids wrote:@depglass No way is Costco in trouble!
I know Costco isn't in trouble. I'm in trouble because of Costco. . .
But I love their canned organic tomatoes and salsa.

We are 3 hrs away from both Costco and Sams and we also stock up when we go to our Drs in Phoenix. During Covid we really started ordering online from both ( usually prefer Costco but Sams has free shipping on most things if you have an executive membership). We buy in bulk for canned goods and paper products and always have them within 3 days max.

Never stopped personally shopping in my stores. I'm still alive and kicking!

Believe it or not, some people buy from major sources and re-sell on Ebay or Amazon with a slight mark-up. If you buy there, just check expiration dates. I recently bought a Knorr Stock Pot discontinued item and it was from Great Britain, shipped from the U.S. Good date, only problem was directions were in ml's. That was OK as my measuring pitcher shows both systems. I've had different items show up in "as is" condition. I don't care as long as dates are good.

I don't think Costco is in trouble. But having products is spotty.
It seems like quite a few items that I buy on a regular basis are not available at Costco. Or if it is still available, Costco does not have it. That is why I have to go to Sam's and get what Costco doesn't have.
Also Sam's has a bigger and nicer selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.

@Etoile308 wrote:There are still grocery shelves with many items missing. I think it's not only supply chain issues, but also a problem with having enough employees to stock shelves. In times past shelves would be stocked after stores closed. Now it seems that shift has been eliminated.
One store near me, ShopRite, has done the opposite. It stocks at night when no one is in the store and has practically no employees during the day. Of course, departments like deli, meat, and bakery are staffed. All checkout lanes but one are self-service. It was strange at first, but I've gotten used to it; the store is so much less cluttered than it was.

@patbz Do the canned goods arrive in good shape or pretty beat up?

Canned goods (and everything else) arrives in perfect condition).

You can buy almost anything on Ebay. I have bought many items that are QVC brands they own.

But they're not being sold by QVC. QVC sells shelf pulls and returns to third party sellers.
