The only one on that list that's in this area is Fazoli's - the food is so-so; I wouldn't miss it if it were gone.
Some of the places I do miss are Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips, The Magic Pan (there was one near my office in NYC), and Child's restaurants (NYC).
The best burgers EVER were from a placed called The Hamburger Train in NYC; it was a hole-in-the-wall, but always packed - you'd see news anchors (from NBC across the street) and company presidents sitting at the counter next to typists and secretaries - it was loved by everyone; I can't believe it's gone - it was immensely popular.
Cats3000 - you know, that building will always be "The Pan Am Building" to me - I don't care what they call it now!
Are Hot Shoppes gone? I stopped at one only a couple of times, but can't remember them well, if they were good or bad - in fact, I only remember them at all because one of my cook books is from there.
There's a place in Chattanooga that has a restaurant in a railroad car - The Choo-Choo, I think.
Anyone a fan of Ted's Montana Grill?
