So, here's what I was doing when an earthquake hit....

IMG_1874.JPG

Lots of rocking and lots of rolling... lasted a long time, but no damage here and my cinnamon raisin bread turned out fine, too.  I hope any of my SoCal forum friends are doing well.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

@house_cat I’m too far north to have felt anything.  Glad you are okay!

Re: So, here's what I was doing when an earthquake hit....

I'm in Oxnard (Ventura County - So. Calif) - I didn't feel a thing. I believe I was on my computer at the time. I went on nextdoor dot com - many of my neighbors felt it or things in their homes were shaking.

I've lived in Southern Calif (from NY) 53 years. I managed to escape 3 major earthquakes - where the epicenter was right near my apt or house. Last year, the Thomas wildfire burned down everying north and west of my house - in the hills. I live on flat land. I also managed to avoid all the flooding, etc.

I count my Blessings every day!!!!!

@kivah

I've told you previously how envious I am of your location.  Oxnard is one of my  😊  places.  We rented a house on the beach there for two weeks in 2012... it was the best vacation of my life!  We're spending a couple of nights in Ventura this month.  I'm surprised you didn't feel the quake.  My husband was in a Starbuck's in Filmore and felt it very strongly.  I guess it depends which way the faults run.  We were very lucky.
