So done with drip coffee makers and other types like, Keurig.   After only about two years, yet another coffee maker (and I only use it one time in the morning) hit the dust.

So, today I ordered an electric Presto perculator.  Years ago, I had a Farberware electric perculator and loved it for the coffee taste and how hot it made and kept the coffee.   No more drip coffee makers for me!

We've had all kinds of coffee makers.  Nothing makes a better cup of coffee than our Farberware perculator.  It's always HOT and strong.

Re: So Done With Drip Coffee Makers!

@lulu2 I felt the same as you about Farberware after finding so many drip coffeemakers died just a few months after the warranty expired. My personal Keurig waited 2 more years.

So I thought why not buy a percolator. They are SS and last forever. When a newlywed I had purchased a used one that worked for probably 15 years afterward then DH took it to his work place using it until someone stole it!  I bought one again recently. About a month after the ever popular warranty expiration it started making weak luke warm coffee. I googled the problem and figured out the thermostat had burned out as so many buyers had had similar experiences. I hate to sound like an 'old geezer' (of course I am !) -- they just don't make things like they used to. Smiley Happy

I hope you got one made on a good day.

As another poster that mentioned Bunn I believe they still have a good rep and many have the water tank made of SS.

Re: So Done With Drip Coffee Makers!

I use Keurig and that thing refuses to die. It's loud, shakes the house but spits out brown, caramel flavored stuff that I drink in the winter. I hate the taste of coffee so have several caramel flavored coffees with caramel flavored Stevia. (Low carb!)

When it finally kicks the bucket, I'll be asking you all what kind of coffee maker I should get. Stand by, folks. Smiley Happy

Re: So Done With Drip Coffee Makers!

Ciaobella, I am with you! Another thread on this forum several years back got me looking for an electric percolator. I have been using a Presto 12 cup for several years - wore one out and had a replacement in the wings. I keep a lookout at garage/estate sales for one of the fabulous old Farberware or Presto ones. Good, hot coffee.
