So Done With Drip Coffee Makers!

So done with drip coffee makers and other types like, Keurig.   After only about two years, yet another coffee maker (and I only use it one time in the morning) hit the dust.

So, today I ordered an electric Presto perculator.  Years ago, I had a Farberware electric perculator and loved it for the coffee taste and how hot it made and kept the coffee.   No more drip coffee makers for me!

French Press is all I use. I don't need any coffee machine that interferes with the purity of my coffee.

We had the same problem with Kuerig and decided to try the commercial Kuerig, it has an automatic water fill with it. It's going on 4 years. We are very happy with it.

Re: So Done With Drip Coffee Makers!

@Lucylu12, many years ago on a business trip, I picked up a coffee at our famous Canadian Tim Horton's.  They have a contest every so often called Roll up the Rim to Win.  Well, after I had my coffee, I did roll up the rim and won a coffee maker and supplies.  As I was flying, I tried to give the win to a friend.  She said 'no, take it home'.  So I did.  I sent DH to get what I thought would be a small prize.

To my amazement, it was a commercial grade coffee machine that makes the best coffee.  It is so fast, my morning brew is done before I can get the cup and return to the machine. That machine lasted years.  When it died, I immediately replaced it with another.

We live in a small city (half a million).  When DH claimed the machine, you would think he won the biggest lottery prize in Canada lol.  He didn't have the heart to tell them the prize actually came from another major Canadian city.😌  LM

I have two Keurigs, one at home and one at the lake place.  They are old and very loud, and vibrate to high heaven. They are probably the first ones ever sold.

Both are going strong and I am praying for at least one to die, so I can justify getting a newer model.

I do run a gallon of vinegar through them twice a year and let it sit overnight to descale..

A small city is half a million people???? WOW!  The town in the couty I grew up in was 1300 or so.  It is around 8K where I live now.  I can't imagine navigating your small city.   What kind of coffee maker was it that you replaced the won one with?

We use Bunn and they're fantastic.  They also make the commercial ones.

I have a Braun drip coffee maker.  It's still going strong after 12 years.

@Tigriss, I lived in a small town of 5000 growing up and in a bedroom seaside community next to our city of 1300 so I do get small☺️.

I bought exactly the same coffee maker the second time.  Just love it!  LM
