@skittles2

Here in the south we all dash for bread and milk - no idea why, but it’s what we do,

 @skittles2------I had to smile when I read your post.....I will tell you about my morning and you'll know why.

I ran out to fill the gas tank on my car. Stopped at the market and got frozen boneless wings and a frozen pizza. Went to the local bakery and got brownies and St.Joseph's pastries.

Before I sat down to browse the net, I turned on the oven to prepare to roast an oven stuffer chicken which is coming to room temp in the sink. Carrots, onions and fennel prepped and ready to roast and potatoes waiting to be boiled and smashed.

Oh and I am snacking on Ruffles with Chi Chi's salsa con queso and sweet iced tea as we "speak" !

Brilliant minds think alike ?

The NYC (where it is really snowing hard) weatherman is predicting 12-18" of snow. I am 20 miles outside of the city and it hasn't even started to snow here yet......but I am prepared when it does !

Enjoy your goodies and feast and stay safe and warm.

Am suffering from cabin fever. You know when it snows so much & you don't have to go to work.  Then you're climbing the walls because you want to out so BADLY!!!!

I've noshed enough and full right up to busting.  But it's still snowing and snowing. And I want to run away to a sunny place.   We're supposed to get 14"  (say it ain't so God)...

Chili and crackers would see us through. We always have milk, eggs and bread on hand for breakfast.

Re: Snowed/Stormed In- Go To foodie items?

@skittles2 Hahaha! That's the first thing I think about when I hear snowstorm. But I like to make it myself because I get cabin fever. If I had my choice, I'd make bolognese sauce or some kind of soup. But I already made soup this weekend and made bolognese last week. I always try to buy something we can cook over the fireplace in case we lose power. There were steaks and pork chops on sale at Acme last night, so they are waiting to go on to the fireplace. Last time we did marinated chicken breast.

Oh, and I also bought salt and vinegar chips!
