I wish these silverware companys would make a well made set of silver similiar in size to the cheep sets. As nice as these sets are I feel I am sticking a tree branch into my mouth.

@gravyandtaters I do not agree with you... the Lenox sets are the perfect size & weight  .... I have 3 sets & would never want to go back to the flimsy weight ... no comparison!!

@January121- ITA with you.  There are plenty of cheap sets out there (smaller in size) for anyone who wants to buy them.  I want quality and balanced weight in the flatware I own.  And spoons that don't bend when trying to get ice cream out of a carton!

I have a beautiful set of Oneida and another of a British brand; neither set feels like a "tree branch" and I don't have a big mouth!  Mind you, I also don't stick the whole fork in my mouth while eating.  Woman Frustrated

I agree!  I feel like I'm using a shovel with this type of silverware. It's awful.

@gravyandtaters welcome to the board! ITA with you about the silver ware I purchased (Reed & Barton) several years ago. It is quite lovely . In the demos DV kept touting that it is continental size -- the dinner fork especially is huge ! It is not necessary to place the whole meal in one's mouth at one time . Smiley Happy

I also like my Lenox set. It is 18/10 SS and I would not own anything lighter.

So your saying they cannot make a quality set of silverware smaller in scale for a more comfortable feel for all tastes in the finer things in life.

I was thinking the opposite.  I bought my mother a new set of silverware and thought it was sturdy.  I don't remember the brand.  It was one of the known silverware brands and was not cheap.  The first time I used it, I thought it would bend in half.  LOL.  Very disappointed.  I have a set of RSVP from the Q.  They must be 20 years old.  You can't bend them if you wanted to.
