Should'a bought that Vita-Mix!

I decided to dig out my very old Vita-Mix to make that tomato soup recipe that was being demo'ed last Sunday.  I've watched the vendor make hot soup many times through the years, but never *quite*  believed that it would work.  Well, it works, we just had some really delicious tomato soup and ham sandwiches for supper.  The cream didn't even turn into butter!  Only one problem, that old machine of mine is so LOUD!  DH put on noise cancelling headphones, my poor dog ran into another room with his tail between his legs, and that machine had to run about 5 minutes to get the soup hot!  I went to the TSV tab, hoping the pricing was still in effect for the new model, thinking I'd buy it and donate the old one, but alas, it's now $100 more than the TSV price.   Drat....................

There is a reason Jan puts the vitamix in a soundproof box when he does the soup demos on air.  They are loud.  All of them are loud, though some might be worse than others.

I have a newer one.  I can assure you that it's not quiet.

Mines loud too. Maybe you can put it in the laundry room & close the door while it's running.

This is worth posting again....I finally trashed my Vitamix 5200 after it was so loud and I received too many complaints.

Gave it away 3x and returned to me 3x for being too loud and noisy to use.

Could literally wake up the dead it was so loud.

Pulled out my trusty older blender which still worked and will keep using that.

Great results and a much quieter unit.

"No complaints ever when using my older blender".

P.S. Must state besides the abomidable and quite unacceptable excessivle loud noise the Vitamix 5200 made, using the  Vitamix tamper was also a real PITA as was cleaning ithis item.).

I had a juicer that was loud and gave it away to my nephew.

Don't like loud motor stuff. I got quiet dishwasher and washer and dryer.

Mine is loud; they are all loud.  But they do the job.  If you notice Starbucks uses a sound box too.  I just step away.  It is never on more than a minute or two anyway.

Received complaints from whom? Your neighbors?  I don’t consider mine to be real loud.  Of course I bought mine 20 years ago from Costco.

Re: Should'a bought that Vita-Mix!

I have a Vitamix 5200 and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  Loud?  So many things are loud...  when I grind coffee beans in my burr grinder,  that's loud, and I do that every day.  Maybe because I commuted most of my life on the NYC subway,  I'm not bothered by the noise.  The machine is a miracle worker and we use it for a lot of things.  I don't run it that long to be disturbed or have it bother anyone. I personally don't find it to be a problem.  It has a heavy duty motor which allows it to do everything that it does.

They are all loud.  You certainly don't buy a Vitamix for sound quality.  It's their enduring performance and quality of the food that makes it a sensational, forever use, product.
