Well- I watched multiple videos and read everything. Assembled the mandolin it worked one minute and stopped. I thought everything was done correctly. Now - can’t remove the top lid with the red power button. Watched more videos. One on YouTube- QVC  can’t recall man’s name- salt and pepper hair with glasses- showing all of the accessories: included is a white plastic lid  to cover bowl to store the accessories not included in my purchase plus having trouble getting everything in bowl. Don’t know about me. Will try again to remove top and start over. Southern Bee

make sure the basket is secured it won't work (safety feature) if everything is not locked in place.

make sure it's plugged in I know that sounds stupid, but, I had a plug at the back of a pressure cooker that fell off (you know those child proof short cords designed to pop off real easy ) I thought it was plugged in and I go to check on it and it's never done nothing only to find out the short cord had fell off the plug in spot on the machine.

I get mine after while I'll see what I come up with

Everything clicked in place and plugged in - started but stopped. Found thin knife and tried to pry off because would not slide in any direction. Called customer service- gal kept saying slide it forward or back and will pop off- I said no tried that stuck. Put on hold- then she replied needed more information because they will send prepaid return label and when returned will send another one. Customer service when answered said “ dash industries.” Just double check everything when you are putting it together. Learn from my mistake.

Use that food pusher to make sure the vegetable your cutting is hitting the blade.

If you notice in the HSN video she's got a onion in the chute and there's a piece of red pepper still in there and the onion can't go thru because there's a blockage. She just walks off and leaves it doesn't take the time to redo it

Noticed that. Thought I was being slow and careful to double check everything before starting. I just checked my emails and haven’t received the return label yet. I will keep trying to remove the lid.  Southern Bee

The cleaning brush has a square flat part on the handle and I used that to pry the top off. Watched another video and read everything again- looked and sounded like assembled correctly. Diced a piece of bell pepper and stopped- no pepper was smushed or stuck in machine. Started all over again- cut a few seconds and stopped again. Frustrating and worn out. Needed diced onions and peppers for what I need to cook. I needed to get a lot done. DH will be home around 2 and I need to have something cooked. Praying better success for you. Southern Bee

I was reading the manual online and I noticed it stated the blade and inserts have to be lined up to match

how when taking them out you lift up and pull out the insert/blade

Glad I can go ahead and study the manual online before I get the unit, so, I can go in without any down time.

I think it's all a matter of just lining up stuff correctly. with the locked lid it said to unplug, plug back in and push the button supposedly that will move the blade just enought the lid will unlock like a reset function
