I have a lot of Temp-tations and use them almost daily...especially some 9x13 bakers. I am the Casserole Queen and have the waistline to prove it. HA! Anyway, I've had one baker eventually get a crack in it. I noticed it as I was drying it so I had to toss it. Now, I will say that for quite awhile I did not realize you were not supposed to soak Temp-tations. I typically would fill them with water, go to bed, and clean up the next day. I'm lazy like that. I don't know if my habit had anything to do with this crack, but I certainly no longer soak the bakers. And really, they clean up fine without it. The soaking was just a habit I was in because of glass bakeware I'd used in the past.
I hope my good luck continues, cause as I said, I use different sizes of these bakers constantly. Not gonna lie, I am cautious and careful now when using them. I have read the many complaints of cracking so I'm certainly aware that it could be a problem.
And FWIW, I've also got some of the AS IS Lidia Bastianich bakers and they are great! Really like them. I just wish they had the plastic lids. Weird, I know, but that's one of the main things I like about Temp-tations. I can slap on a lid and store items on top of each other in the fridge.

I had a new 9x12 baker crack in half as I was removing it from the oven...filled with lasagna! Food and smoke everywhere. It had only been used once before. The ingredients weren't refrigerated before...everything was placed in the oven at room temp.
I then checked my other bakers and casserole dishes and noticed that many were crazed and a few cracked.
I never used them again for baking...just for serving cold salads.

Actually, it was started to prove a point. Nothing that several posters here say that takes a realistic look at this product is let stand by one particular other poster. It was started to prove that posts made by certain people would be deleted. And that is exactly what happened. I knew it would and I wanted to prove that point, if only to myself.
I did this to prove that even when posts follow the standards, there is one oddly loyal Temp-tations admirer who won't leave a couple of dissenting posters alone. Point proven, to those of us who have seen it again and again.
Now, mods, why are you allowing this to go on? Exactly what position does this one loyal fan hold, that they control this board like they do?

I can then be the princess of that kingdom!
And those Lidia Bastianich bakers are the best. Can't believe how great they are for the price. And many of my Temp-tations plastic lids fit on them, especially the 9x13 ones. I think I've used the 11x7 lids as well.

I'm guessing it was started because this Temptations forum doesn't already have enough constant bickering and back-and-forth accusations.
And I'm not sure I've ever seen such a subject line in any forum dedicated to a particular line.
Says a lot about the OP....

a note: if you DO want to try temp-tations for the first time the best time would be to order it mid-september. the holiday policy will be in effect so you will have until almost the end of january 2016 to use it and return it if it doesnt meet your expectations. 4+ months or your money back.
no problems with my Temp-tations either along with millions of others that are satisfied with their purchases!!
Great advice about when to buy & try out Temp-tations!!

There is no one who has ever posted about Temptations who is more fair in their comments and assessments of the product than this OP. Her comments always give both "sides"... as she has said many times, she loves Temptations, but she has had some problems with it and is willing to be honest about it, unlike some. She doesn't gloss over any of the negative aspects, but she praises the product and talks quite a bit about how much she likes certain pieces and patterns, and what she would like to buy.
I have also said many times that I really like many of the patterns, colors, and accessory pieces and would like to feel that I could purchase them... but my prior problems and reading the reviews have kept me from doing that. All I have done is to be honest about the reviews and suggest that people read the reviews themselves, and then make their decisions.
The OP doesn't need me to defend her... she does a great job of that herself. However, I've seen and been affected by the "problem" on these threads. As she said in a previous post here, she started this thread to prove a point, and the point was proven, in spades.

...interesting quote and observation.......so that means that those of us who have had NO problems are not being fair in our comments and assessments?

I dont doubt that mominohio has posted her own personal experiences good and bad, but i would never say anyone else is being less than fair in posting their positive responses to the brand.
