ALL food on QVC is ridiculously priced, why should this brand be any different from all the others?

'Tis always that season, my dear, or so it would seem.

Isn't gouging saved for prices raised from normal when there's a shortage?
I've never thought of it just because something is more expensive than I want to spend.
If the latter is what gouging is, then people who sell Mercedes and Lincolns and Lexus are all gouging, too.
And so are those selling Moissanite and Gucci purses and $300 haircuts!
I won't spend money for those things or for that cake - although what's funny about the cake is that I might well pay $8 or $9 dollars for a slice of cake in a restaurant. Add tax and tip, I I probably just paid more than the cost of that QVC cake.

I wouldn't spend that much money on something that's going to come out the other end the next day.

I would be one of those people who, after relocating from the Big City miss fabulous ethnic bakeries! Especially at the holidays.
While I consider myself a good baker, cakes/cake decorating, not so much. So to have people over and serve something that comes with a money back guarantee is worth it to me.

I wouldn't pay that much either. But remember that the shipping prices are folded in the total cost of foods now. It is very expensive to ship one cake in a frozen pack.

@chickenbutt The complaints seem to escalate with the onset of the "holiday" season, if you could call CIJ that.

If you've watched any of the cake competition shows on the food network (at least I think that's the channel on which I watch them) you would see that his cakes pale in comparison to 100's of other bakers.
Only once, and it was a few years back, have I ever seen Buddy himself on one of the competition shows and and if memory serves it was for wedding cakes. His was deemed rather ordinary and old school. Now those are my own descriptive words but whatever words were used meant the same thing.
Then, those I haven't seen any aired lately, there are shows that take place at various bakeries around the country that specialize in custom cakes that put his cakes to shame.

He has a shop in a local casino. The prices are high but the food is delicious. If I need something, I pop in and buy it.
