Salted Caramel Butter Bars?

It's a recipe I got from Pinterest. I was wondering if anyone has ever made these bars? I was having the roots done yestereday and my stylist told me her SIL made the bars and she thought they were too salty. We looked up the recipe and couldn't decide if the sprinkled salt over the caramel made it too salty or that the recipe calls for salted butter in the batter and not unsalted.
