I've eaten arugula, or mixed mescaline greens ontop of my sald for decades.

I used to order well done (extra crisp crust) pizza, light on the cheese with arugula on top at Joseph's in Fox Chase (Philly) I ordered it like this everytime I went - which was fairly often since I lived across the street.

They ran it as a special one night and offered me a free whole pie with the arugula on it for the inspiration, they said it was a big hit.

I was happy for the freebie and happier to get the idea out there that "salad" pizza is indeed, a THING

Re: Salad Pizza

[ Edited ]

I can see the crust & maybe a touch of sauce but it's not what I would call a pizza.

I would eat it.

Calling it a salad pizza does not sound appetizing, but the picture looks good.

We rarely have pizza, but when we do order delivery, I like to eat with salad. I usually put some salad on it. It's messy but good.

Every Friday is pizza night at our house. I usually make the dough on Thursday afternoons and let it rise overnight in the fridge.

One of our pizzas in the house is what we call a hoagie pizza, which is quite good. Shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, thinly sliced ham, chopped onions, and seasonings. Whatever cheese I have on hand and feel like shredding. No sauce.

Believe it or not, it works. It's really good.

Here they call that flatbread if it’s thin crust. Flatbread with greens.
