As a seafood lover, I think that looks yummy. But I would never pay that much.
We drove quite a way to get to a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and surprise DS for his 13th birthday because he loves steak. They were supposed to have the best. IIRC the sides were extra. Our dinner was a little pricey, and DS wasn't that impressed- or didn't seem to be. LOL!
DH and I celebrated our anniversary every year at the beach by eating in a wonderful restaurant. It was an old Victorian farmhouse. We got to know the owners and staff. They decided to close when their children got older and more involved with school activities.
After they closed we got holiday letters for a while. We missed them. One night we went to a newer seafood restaurant. There was our favorite server, and we were glad to see her! The children were with us. I think DS was about 8 or 9. They would always select something from the children's menu.
So I was shocked when DS spoke up and said, "I'll have the filet mignon." Our server saw the look on my face - the look that said "this is going to be an expensive night"! She bent down and whispered to me, telling me if he wants it let him have it. Her children were older so I took her advice.
I asked DS if he could eat it all, and this little boy said he could. He ate every last bite on his plate.
He still loves steak. And for years, until that restaurant closed when he was in college, he would order it every year, telling us the steaks there were his favorite!
