Ruh roh... I like the Temptations dinnerware set.

[ Edited ]

I usually lean towards whites and solids, but I'm kinda liking this:

Here they are. I like the light blue in floral lace.

Do any of you own it?

Hi, house_cat,

I remember you asking about fiesta dinnerware a couple months ago.  Did you ever decide to purchase some?

No, I didn't, because the more I researched it, the clearer it became that I favor the vintage, discontinued colors.  I'll have to pick them up a piece at a time and I don't have the budget for that right now.

I like some of the older colors too.  In fact, I have no pieces in 5 of the newer colors.  I hope they never discontinue my favorite, turquoise.  It has been around since 1988.  I also like ivory, which has been in production since 2008, and also sunflower, still in production since 2001.

@house_cat

I personally do not own this set but my gf bought it. Sadly, some plates are "lopsided" do not sit flat, coffee mugs are not completely round, and boy do they chip easily. She was offered to return them (she never opened until she moved into her new home 4 months later) at her cost.

I purchased the floral lace bowls recently and as beautiful as they are -- the "stoneware" is thin -- I have a few chips from putting them in dishwasher (hit up against another dish).

I love my pieces for serving purposes(wont cook in them) but not liking I'm now hand washing vs dishwasher. Quality certainly is not comparable to when they were first introduced.

I have purchased many Fiesta pieces over the past 1.5 years to blend with my OW/FL pieces in blue. Absolutely love the quality but they are heavy!

Good luck whatever you decide they are pretty!

A friend bought a set not very long ago.  We were having a cup of coffee and some coffee cake and she was serving from her fancy dishes.  I mentioned I feel special, she said don't cause her everyday dishes (Temptations) are all chipped after a few months of use.  I'd be pretty p o'd...I've heard that about her bakeware as well.  I never bought any Temptations.

Re: Ruh roh... I like the Temptations dinnerware set.

I wouldn't ever even consider buying ceramic dishes for my everyday dinnerware. They would chip and break so easily. I have only ever owned Corelle - I find them to be far superior for endurance, and yet much less expensive. 6 years ago when we moved to Fl. I decided to buy a new set of dishes and , of course, went with Corelle in a black/white pattern so I chose some TT pieces in the old daisy pattern in black & white to go with them. They are very cute and I will say i use them more for serving than baking but mine have held up well.I have a few other TT pieces that don't get used a lot but those daisy dishes are used daily and put in the DW, as is my seashell set, as that is my only salad bowl so it gets used a lot.

Re: Ruh roh... I like the Temptations dinnerware set.

Thanks, everyone.  Good feedback.

I was considering one set to mix in with my "boring white ware", that I love so much.. but changed my mind.

I own some Temptations and enjoy using it, but I didn't purchase it with the idea of an investment. It's inexpensive and fun and when I tire of it I donate it and find something else.

In any case, I reconsidered on this one and didn't bite.

Have a great day :-)

Re: Ruh roh... I like the Temptations dinnerware set.

I collect the blue but I have a few pieces in the fl winter which is the same shade as the light blue fl. It's a very pretty shade of sky blue. I need more plates to add to what I have and I liked the size of the mugs. I am still thinking about ordering a set but I'm trying so hard not to purchase a "thing" .
