I saw a video sent by a friend. The person simply cut off both end with a knife (husk attached) then put the whole thing in the microwave. I think 5 minutes. When finished the husk peeled away. I tried it. It worked. Another variation, just put it in the microwave and cut off the ends and peel.

I bought a gadget (which I seldom do) but found I prefer to use a knife.
